I love to catch a moment, if I am incredibly blessed I can snap a picture of it, but many moments are just indelibly etched upon my heart and hopefully stored up in perfect resolution in Heaven.
Some moments are silly spontaneous moments.
Some moments are sweet posed moments.
Some happen when you least expect.
Some are once in a lifetime moments.
Some moments could happen on any ordinary day.
Maybe it is an experience. Perhaps it is something that was said. It could be something that you saw with your eyes.
For some reason the moment captured your attention and your heart.
Hold on to that moment. Savor it. Commemorate it in a way where you can look back upon it. It is amazing how many of the moments captured in these few photos I look back on so fondly. It makes me smile. It makes me laugh. It reminds me of how important it is to plan for and allow moments to happen.
I have a tote that I call my treasure box. In it a store things that help me remember my moments. Cards, letters, ticket stubs, deflated Mylar balloons, pictures, drawings and notes on napkins. I know these too shall fade and pass and that I will one day leave them behind, but for now I hold to them. From time to time I lose myself in them smiling at the things that make me who I am and have built the life I lead.
Life is busy. Life is fast paced. Life can feel like it is passing us by.
“Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.” Psalm 90:12 NLT
May we have the wisdom to realize that life is a quick trip. May it teach us to capture and savor our moments.
What moments do you have stored in your heart? What moments are you going to add to your treasure chest today? How can you make room in your schedule for the opportunity for moments?
Dear & Beloved Lord,
Thank You so very much for all of the little moments that You fill our days with. May we be aware and attentive to them. May we have the wisdom to plan for opportunity for moments to happen and the insight to take advantage spontaneously when a moment presents itself randomly.
Through all of our moments God, may we bring glory and praise to You – the Great Giver who makes these possible.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
