This morning my daily She Lives She Loves She Laughs calendar reads,

“Aren’t you tickled pink to be the joy of God’s heart…the reason for His happy song?”

What a great question for the day!  Are you tickled pink to be the joy of God’s heart?  Are you tickled pink to be the reason for His happy song?

Do you know what it means to be tickled pink?

Now the first image that may come to mind is to be tickled and filled with laughter until you literally turn pink.  That’s not exactly it.

To be tickled pink is to be delighted, to give pleasure or to gratify.   It is to experience enjoyment so great that it causes you to glow with pleasure.

Are you delighted to be the joy of God’s heart?  Does it satisfy you?  Does it give you so much enjoyment that you glow from the pleasure of it all?

Have you ever met someone that glows from being loved by God?  There is a peace and a hope about them.  They seem to be filled with this joy and zest for life, especially in the smallest of things.

Perhaps this is what it means to be the light in Matthew 5:14-16 when it says, “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

We should be so joyous from experiencing God’s love for us that we radiate a loving glow unto the world, shining for Christ.

This morning are you feeling bright and vibrant with a loving glow from being the joy of God’s heart?  Are you humming along with the song God is singing over you?

Or do you feel a little dull?  Do you wonder if you glow has been tarnished?  Do you just feel too tired to shine?

My dear reader, allow these truths to penetrate in your heart.  Read them over and over again.  Say them out loud.  Even if you do not feel them, think them to yourself.

God loves you!

God delights in you!

You are a beautiful treasure!

You are a precious gift!

God has a special song that He sings for you!

You were hand crafted by the God who knows the name of every star in the sky, which makes you a divine masterpiece!

God loves you!

You mean to the world to God!

You are loved so much that Jesus suffered the cross so that you may have life!

God delights in you!

God loves you!

Dearest and Beloved Lord,

Thank you so much for making us the joy of your heart!  Thank you for singing Your happy song over us.  God, it is so amazing that You – in all Your greatness, majesty and power – would find joy in us.  We are so small, so filled with sin and so distracted by our own desires.  You love us and desire us to come to You just as we are.  You hold no world standards that we first must live up to in order to earn Your attention.  You love us so much that You keep a record of the number of hairs we have.  Being a God of details You probably also know color, size and length of those hairs.  

Lord, I pray this day that You would help us to come to You, to be with You, so that the love You have for each of us would make us glow with satisfaction.  May we be joyously tickled pink by the way You delight in us.  May we shine into this world to point others to You.
